ASTM E595 Silicone

ElastaPro makes ASTM E595 silicone for high-vacuum environments. These low outgassing silicones can be used in spaceflight, aerospace, defense, electronics, optics, medical devices, and other sensitive applications.

Because they have a total mass loss (TML) of ≤1.00% and a Collected Volatile Condensable Material (CVCM) of ≤0.10%, these specification grade silicones can also meet NASA requirements. NASA STD-6016 specifies a TML of ≤1.00% and a CVCM of ≤0.10%.

Solid Silicone Sheet and Uncured Silicone Compound

Choose solid silicone sheet or uncured silicone compound that’s specifically formulated and processed to minimize the release of volatile compounds under vacuum and/or heat to prevent the contamination of sensitive components such as lenses, sensors, and electronic circuits.

  • Solid sheet materials are post-cured to ensure minimal volatile content and stability. They are easy to die cut and provide a superior sealing and gasketing solution. Thicknesses range from 0.010″ to .0500″ and widths up to 36″ are available.
  • Uncured silicone compound can be molded, extruded, or calendered.

Four ASTM E595 Silicones

ElastaPro offers four ASTM E595 silicones in different durometers (hardness) on the Shore A scale.

  • ESS40LO is a 40-durometer low outgassing silicone.
  • ESS50LO is a 50-durometer low outgassing silicone.
  • ESS60LO is a 60-durometer low outgassing silicone.
  • ESS70LO is a 70-durometer low outgassing silicone.
