Extreme High Temperature Silicone

ElastaPro’s extreme high-temperature silicone is designed for applications that need higher temperature resistance than general purpose grade silicone can provide. This high-temperature material uses the latest in Heat Stabilizer Technology. It is easily die-cut and provides a superior gasket and sealing solution. Choose thicknesses from .010” to .500”, widths up to 60” wide, and various color and catalyst options. This high temp rubber sheet is available as solid silicone sheet and uncured silicone compound.

What is Extreme High Temperature Silicone?

Extreme high temperature silicone is a specialized type of silicone rubber designed to maintain its physical and mechanical properties at exceptionally high temperatures—typically above 250°C (482°F) and up to 300°C (572°F) or more for short durations. Some grades, especially those reinforced with additives like fumed silica or ceramic fillers, can tolerate even higher intermittent temperatures, often reaching 315°C (600°F) or more.

What is High Temp Rubber Sheet?

A high temp rubber sheet is made of an elastomer that’s designed to withstand high heat while maintains its shape and properties. Typically, the elastomer that’s used is silicone. Compared to commodity rubber materials like EPDM, nitrile, and neoprene, silicone withstands higher temperatures. Extreme high temperature silicone withstands even higher temperatures than standard silicone. Applications for high temp rubber sheet include thermal insulation, gasketing, and heat shielding. Like other types of silicone, high temp silicone rubber sheet also withstands ozone, oxidation, and UV light.

Standard Silicone vs. Extreme High Temperature Silicone

The table below compares high heat silicone to standard silicone in terms of maximum continuous temperature, additives, cost, and durability in harsh heat.

Property Standard Silicone Extreme High Temp Silicone
Max Continuous Temp ~200–250°C 250–300°C or higher
Additives Basic fillers Heat-resistant fillers or reinforcements
Cost Lower Higher due to enhanced formulation
Durability in Harsh Heat Moderate Excellent
